Auditions for the Anchorage Civic Orchestra are held by appointment only. Audition requirements are as follows:
• Prepare a solo from a concerto or sonata
• Prepare specific orchestral selections
• Sight reading provided by the audition committee
Please contact the ACO Audition Committee at auditions@anchoragecivicorchestra.org to schedule an audition and to obtain the orchestral excerpts.
Although it is not required to send the information in advance of scheduling an audition, email your music/orchestral experience either via a one-page music resume or download our form. Please list your recent orchestral experience or musical education to: auditions@anchoragecivicorchestra.org (include the words "Auditions" in the title of your email, and attach your resume or the audition form as a .pdf document), or send the information via U.S. Mail to Anchorage Civic Orchestra, ATTN: Auditions, P. O. Box 233256, Anchorage, AK 99523.
The season begins in mid-September and ends in May. Orchestra rehearsals are on Tuesdays, 7:15 - 9:30 p.m. Musician dues are $100 per year. Additionally, members are encouraged to sell advertising space for each concert program, procure donations and volunteer to assist with some non-playing duties.
